If I set a .062" ball on top of a .031" hole how much of the ball will protrude into the hole height wise?
Thanks for any help.
Thanks for any help.
Are the values 0.062 and 0.031 the radii or the diameters? If I set a .062" ball on top of a .031" hole how much of the ball will protrude into the hole height wise?

Oh, so you're not needing the service that this site offers (giving of our time to help struggling students learn the material in order to complete their homework exercises); you're needing a contracting service. I'm not familiar with any contractors providing the design assistance you're needing on a free and on-demand basis, but maybe you can find something in Google...?Diameters. I am a grown man with no text books or knowledge really. Just need the answer for something I'm building. Thanks.

And you said .062" is the diameter.
1/16 of an inch = .0625: so the ball is about size of a pinhead
Are you serious?
Hint: R - sqrt(R^2 - r^2)
