Hello Gonzales. If you're trying to ask how we get x=2+cos(θ) from the equation cos(θ)=x-2, then add 2 to both sides. Otherwise, I'm not sure what your question is.

I think you're saying that the solution manual gives the solution as [MATH]x = 2 - \cos(\theta)[/MATH], while some site gives it as [MATH]x = 2 + \cos(\theta)[/MATH]. The former is correct, because the latter does not start at (1, 0) when the parameter [MATH]\theta[/MATH] is 0. But this [MATH]\theta[/MATH] is not what is shown in the figure! So I'm a little confused about what the problem really wants.
