I have a basic Venn diagram with just 2 overlapping circles for sets A and B respectively.

If I wish to just shade all of circles A and B, but not the part where they overlap or any of the surround, how do I write this mathematically?

Is it A n B n (AnB)'

I can't seem to find this example anywhere on the Internet, which is usually the case!

Any help would be appreciated

You wrote Is it A n B n (AnB)'?
Let A n B = S, so (AnB)' = S'
Now A n B n (AnB)' = S n S' = { } (the empty set).
Might you have meant A u B n (AnB)' ?
