\(\displaystyle 1200 \ \text{V}\) is applied to a \(\displaystyle 2800\)-\(\displaystyle \text{pF}\) capacitor. How much electric energy is stored?

Capacitor energy is given by:

\(\displaystyle U = \frac{1}{2}CV^2 = \frac{1}{2}\left(2800 \times 10^{-12}\right)(1200)^2 = \textcolor{blue}{2 \ \text{mJ}}\)
