1. Noah and Brianna want to calculate the distance between their houses which are opposite sides of the water park. They mark a point, A, 120m along the edge of the water park from Brianna's house. The measure <NBA as 75 degrees and <BAN as 70 degrees. Determine the distance between the houses.

2. From an observation tower that overlooks a runway, the angles of depression of Point A, on one side of the runway, and Point B, on the opposite side of the runway are, 6 degrees and 13 degrees respectively. The points and the tower are in the same vertical plane and the distance from A to B is 1.1km. Determine the height of the tower.

If anyone could point me in the right direction on these two questions I would appreciate it. I'm having a hard time visualizing question 1, and I am not sure how to approach question 2.

Draw the sketch - it will be triangle NBA

You know one side (BA = 120 m) and measure of two angles.

Use law of sines to solve for length of the side NB.

Again, draw the triangle (PAB) and use law of sines to find the sides and the angles.

If anyone could point me in the right direction on these two questions I would appreciate it. I'm having a hard time visualizing question 1, and I am not sure how to approach question 2.

Please share your work with us .

If you are stuck at the beginning tell us and we'll start with the definitions e.g. define
angles of depression.

ah thanks for the help I understand how to do this question now. It becomes 120sin(70)/sin(35)=196.6m.
