Determine whether the point W(2,-1) lies on the perpendicular bisector of line segment UV, endpoints U(3,5) and V(-3,-1). Explain and justify your answer.

I cant figure it out, if someone could, it would be a pleasure!!!!!

Find the slope between U and V. What will then be the perpendicular slope?

Find the midpoint of UV.

With the slope and the (mid-)point, find the equation of the perpendicular bisector.

A point is "on" a line if its x- and y-values, when plugged into the equation, "solve" the equation. So plug W into your line equation, and see if it works.

Please work the question out, because I cannot understand what your saying.. I am not very good at math, and if u work this problem out, I can understand better. Thx alot

Sorry, but no, I'm not going to do the homework for you. Maybe another tutor will.

If you are getting stuck, please reply showing how far you have gotten in following the step-by-step instructions. You've plugged the indicated points into the slope formula, right? You've plugged the indicated points into the Midpoint Formula, right? Then what?

Thank you.

Eliz.
