One of two complementary angles added to one-half the other yields 72degrees. find half the measure of the larger.

Not really sure where to start..

There are two angles - call those x & y.

x & Y are complimentary - so what is the sum of x & y? .........................................................(1)

One of two complementary angles(x) added(+) to one-half the other(y/2) yields(=) 72degrees

x + y/2 = 72.....................................................(2)

solve (1) and (2) as a system of equations to find x & y
