What is the conversion factor between \(\displaystyle \bold{(a)}\) \(\displaystyle \text{ft}^2\) and \(\displaystyle \text{yd}^2\), \(\displaystyle \bold{(b)}\) \(\displaystyle \text{m}^2\) and \(\displaystyle \text{ft}^2\)?
 
What is the conversion factor between \(\displaystyle \bold{(a)}\) \(\displaystyle \text{ft}^2\) and \(\displaystyle \text{yd}^2\), \(\displaystyle \bold{(b)}\) \(\displaystyle \text{m}^2\) and \(\displaystyle \text{ft}^2\)?

\(\displaystyle 1 \ \text{yd} \rightarrow 3 \ \text{ft}\)

Then,

\(\displaystyle \text{ft}^2 = \text{ft}^2 \times \frac{\text{yd}}{3 \ \text{ft}} \times \frac{\text{yd}}{3 \ \text{ft}} = \textcolor{blue}{0.11111 \ \text{yd}^2}\)


\(\displaystyle \bold{(b)}\)

\(\displaystyle 1 \ \text{m} \rightarrow 3.28 \ \text{ft}\)

Then,

\(\displaystyle \text{m}^2 = \text{m}^2 \times \frac{3.28 \ \text{ft}}{\text{m}} \times \frac{3.28 \ \text{ft}}{\text{m}} = \textcolor{blue}{10.758 \ \text{ft}^2}\)
