List the elements of each of the following sample spaces:

\(\displaystyle \bold{(a)}\) the set of integers between \(\displaystyle 1\) and \(\displaystyle 50\) divisible by \(\displaystyle 8\)
\(\displaystyle \bold{(b)}\) the set \(\displaystyle S = \{x \ | \ x^2 + 4x - 5 = 0\}\)
\(\displaystyle \bold{(c)}\) the set of outcomes when a coin is tossed until a tail or three heads appear
\(\displaystyle \bold{(d)}\) the set \(\displaystyle S = \{x \ | \ x \ \text{is a continent} \}\)
\(\displaystyle \bold{(e)}\) the set \(\displaystyle S = \{x \ | \ 2x - 4 \geq 0 \ \text{and} \ x < 1\}\)

Your logic is a bit off. If I sell Europe to Russia, it still remains a continent, albeit now Russia
It is not logic. It is a private property. Think of it like Pluto. It is not officially considered a planet because it has been sold to some random billionaire.
