So you know:

6 = x * √3

Solve for 'x' from equation above.

Where is the trouble?

The trouble is that I don't know quite how to figure out x from that equation. I've tried arranging it multiple ways and plugging in some numbers, but so far I haven't gotten an answer.

Yes. To work through it step by step we have

\(\displaystyle 6 = x \sqrt{3}\)
=> \(\displaystyle x = \frac{6}{\sqrt{3}}\)
=> \(\displaystyle x = \frac{2 * 3}{\sqrt{3}}\)
=> \(\displaystyle x = \frac{2 * \sqrt{3} * \sqrt{3}}{\sqrt{3}}\)
=> \(\displaystyle x = 2 * \sqrt{3}\)
