I'm trying to find the secant of -1.7876 in quadrant 3 and not sure how to enter it into my calculator properly. I have tried entering every combination of cos and arc cos functions and have only gotten syntax errors and answers that were way off from the one provided by the book.

The answer should be 236, but the closest thing I got was 124 degrees.

124 degrees is correct if you wanted it in the second quadrant. So with your reference angle of 56 degrees, what is the equivalent angle in the third quadrant? ;)
