I really need help. I'm not a math wiz (hence the username) and I don't understand how to do this problem.

A student's test score was 722 on a scale of 200-800. Convert this scale to a scale of 0 - 100.

Any help would be appreciated more than you know!

Have you ever worked with temperature? Same thing.

Fix the zero

Subtract 200

Fix the scale

Divide by (800-200)/(100-0) = 600/100 = 6

Example:

200-800 receiving 722

Subtract 200

0-600 receiving 522

Divide by 6

0-100 receiving 87
