When we went camping, we saw that campsite featured a trailer driveway. The driveway measured 21 feet across by 42 feet back and was surrounded on three sides by a concrete curb 6 inches wide and 8 inches tall. There was no curb on the front of the driveway so that a trailer could be driven in. What was the volume of the concrete in the curb?

First draw a sketch - you'll see two rectangles. Subtract the smaller one from the larger one - that will give you the "plan" area of the curb. Multiply by the height and get the volume.

Please share your work with us indicating exactly where you are stuck - so that we may know where to begin to help you.
