To find the (average) usage per day, calculate the usage (end read 3.419- 0.100 start read= 3.319) and divide by the number of days. 14.05.12-1.02.14

so the average usage is from the 14.05.12-1st Feb 14 by the numbers of days is 629 is 0.00527 is that the daily average usage?

I need to credit Sep13,oct,nov Dec, jan 14 usage and how do i work that out. i have calculated 153 days so I can bill for the credit?

Help.

For the months Sep, Oct, Nov, Dec, Jan we need to write off his standing charge and usage. In order to work out the appropriate ‘usage’ figure, please can you use his daily average usage.

This is the instruction above

My question is how to work how to credit the customer Sep-Jan 14 with writng off his usage.

Who is "he"? The "start date" of what?

Start Read (handover): 0.010
New Read: 3.419 for 1st Feb 2014
What is being "read"? What do the numbers mean?

For the months Sep, Oct, Nov, Dec, Jan we need to write off his standing charge and usage.
What is the "standing charge"? How does it relate to the "readings", if at all? How do the "readings" relate to the "usage", if at all? What is meant by "writing off"?

In order to work out the appropriate ‘usage’ figure, please can you use his daily average usage.
How is "appropriate" defined? Apparently taking whatever total and dividing it by the number of days from whenever to whenever is not sufficient for finding the required value (else you'd have done that). So then what are the rules for "daily average usage"?

Considering that this homework question does not appear to have defined anything that's going on, I suppose it's no wonder that everybody is confused. :-?
