(a) by using the substitution t=tan 0.5x , prove that cosec x -cot x=tan 0.5x
(b) use this result to show that tan 15=2 - √3

I don't see any t, in the equation. Did you already make the substitution?


We can prove that the equation is an identity by expressing everything in terms of sine and cosine, simplifying, and working out the half-angle identity for tangent, if need be.


What have you thought about or tried, so far?
