Given: x^2 + y^2 - 2x - 4y - 4 = 0
Which of the following is correct?

I. This is a circle with center at (1, 2) and radius 3.
II. This is a circle with center at (-1, 2) and radius 3.

IV. This is a circle with center at (-1, -2) and radius 3.

First group to gether the "like" terms.
(x^2-2x)+(y^2-4y)-4 = 0.
Now, what numbers could you add to (x^2-2y) and (y^2-4y) in order for you to factor them out?
Ill give you a hint on (x^2-2x).
Doesnt (x^2-2x+1) factor out to (x-1)^2?

Now, maybe you can do the other one.
