I am enrolled in an beginning and intermediate math class online. We are using the Beginning and Intermeidiate Algebra 3rd edition, Auther K. Elayn Martin-Gay.
I am totally lost and do not understand anything I am looking at. I think the less than and greater than questions are the only one's I understand. I was just informed that my mid tern is this week, and I need to complete chapter review 1 thru 3 and an exercise in chapter 5. I NEED MAJOR HELP!!!!

Most of us don't have your book, so please post a specific problem. :p

Just to clarify: You're asking for lessons over all of the topics in Chapters 1, 2, 3, and 5?

(Tutors: The topics required appear to be the following: reviewing real numbers, working with negatives, solving linear equations, solving linear inequalities, working with word problems involving linear equations and inequalities, plotting points, graphing linear equations, relating slopes and intercepts and equations, relating slopes and rate and word problems, working with functions and function notation, simplifying with exponents, adding and subtracting polynomials, multiplying polynomials, doing long division of polynomials, using scientific notation, doing synthetic division, and using the Remainder Theorem.)

You might want to try the publisher's online lessons, provided at the link listed in your textbook. And you might want to look into purchasing the student solution manual and study guide. If your book came with the supplementary CD, you might want to work through that, as well.

But there is no way we can teach you the three months or so of your class in a simple forum posting. Sorry.

Eliz.

Just to get an idea of "where you're at":

7 + x = 22 - 2x : can you solve that for x ?

x/3 = x - 14 : can you solve that for x ?
