Hey guys and girls!

I need some help with a problem i stumbled upon.

The costs of my products are normal distributed.
Let’s say for example: 20% of my products cost under 20$, 50% are between 20$ and 50$ and so on.

For further calculation i do have the total sum/cost of all products available. (which i sold)

Now i would like to infer the portion of money coming from <20$ products. (not using my available dataset, instead using my normal distribution)

Is there some way i can calculate or at least approximate this?

Kind regards

Your assignment in to various 20% groups may not be appropriate. Seems unlikely that it would lead to any sort of Normal distribution. However, if you could define the ENTIRE distribution you have in mind, it MAY lead to something. Your "and so on", just doesn't provide enough information.
