What have you tried? Can you solve the "associated homogeneous equation", y''- 3y'+ 2y= 0?
\(\displaystyle (x+ 1)^{1/2}\) is NOT one of the kinds of functions we would expect as a solution to a "homogenous line equation with constant coefficients" so "undetermined coefficients" won't work. Do you know the method of "variation of parameters"?
