All I can tell from your "picture" is that D is between A and B. Since your subject line says "segments and bisectors," I wonder if you are GIVEN the infomation that D bisects segment AB.
If that's the case, remember that a bisector of a segment divides the segment into two parts of equal length.
If D bisects segment AB (or is the midpoint of AB), then AD = DB and that is the foundation of your equation.
If AD = DB, then
2x + 11 = 4x - 5
You can solve that for x.
And once you know the value of x, you can find AD and DB. And, AD + DB = AB.
