I haven't done basic algebra since 8th grade and I forgot a lot of it. The following problem was presented in my college biochem class and I can't figure out how to solve it. Help would be much appreciated.

2.2 = x/ (100-x)

Re: Simple Algebra

Multiply both sides by (100-x).

Then you'll have 2.2(100-x)=x.

Distribute the 2.2 and bring all the x's on the same side, all numbers on the oppoiste side.

Re: Simple Algebra

Wow that definitely refreshed my memory. Now I can actually finish my biochem problems. Thank you so much for your help!
