Do you know how to solve "x - 2 = 5"? If so, then use the same step to solve the inequality. If not, study that topic first.
Do you know what the "<" symbol means? If so, then graph the solution on the number line, keeping in mind that this is not an "or equal to" inequality, so the endpoint isn't included in the solution. (Check your book for the particular notation you're expected to use for this.)
