A tower is supported by a guy wire from the top of the tower to the ground 16 ft from its base. The
wire makes an angle of 62 with the ground. The length of the wire is ???

a. 30.09 ft
b. 18.12 ft
c. 28.41 ft
d. 34.08 ft

Hope you can explain, thanks!

This is not a tricky problem; it is a straightforward exercise in right-triangle trigonometry.

Where exactly are you stuck? Did you draw the right triangle, yet? The base is 16, and the angle between the base and wire is 62 degrees. The wire length is the hypotenuse.

Please be complete, when you ask for help, so that we might determine where to begin helping you.

Cheers ~ Mark
