without changing the direction of co ordinate axes, origin is transferred linear term

without changing the direction of co ordinate axes, origin is transferred to (h,k) so that the linear (one degree ) terms are eliminated. then the point (h,k) is:

a) (3,2)
b)(-3,2)
c) (2,-3)
d)(2,3)

Hi. Do you know what linear terms they are talking about (in red)?

(This post seems like an incomplete exercise statement, to me.)

Please provide any additional information that you may have. Cheers
