Writing equations in Slope intercept form

I need major help with this. I dont understand how to write the equation???

Slope Intercept form is written y = mx + b. I don't know if that is any help, but if you need me to explain it, I will.

Do you use change in y/ change in x? I am beginning to get this

If your two points are (4,5) and (5,-4) then you first need to find "m."

The formula for M is y1 - y/ x1 -x, so you get -4 - 5 which equals -9 over 5 - 4 which equals 1. M equals -9.

Then you pick a point, any one, and plug it in. I will take (4,5)

y-5 = -9( x-4) which turns out to be y -5 = -9x + 36
you want to get Y by itself so you add 5 to each side and it cancels out on the left, so your answer is y= -9x + 41

If you have a specific exercise with which you are having difficulty, please post it. If, on the other hand, you are requesting lessons on various topics (slopes, intercepts, and line equations, for a start...?), then please list the topics for which you would like links to lessons.
